Job summary

Simle Middle School is seeking a part-time Child Nutrition Assistant to support the school’s food service operations for the 2026-2027 year. The role runs 6 hours per day aligned with the school calendar, with duties covering food preparation, serving, and sanitary maintenance for students and staff.

Starting immediately, the assistant reports to the Food Service Manager II and works to ensure nutritional standards are met while maintaining safety and cleanliness in all food service areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Ability to follow safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic math, safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods meeting nutritional requirements and sanitary standards.
• Verify order specifications and maintain inventory controls.
• Inspect food items for quality, quantity and health standards.
• Cook from scratch or use prepared items as needed.
• Assist with serving food to students and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of utensils, equipment, and prep areas.
• Report equipment malfunctions to ensure safe conditions.
