Job summary

Blount County Board of Education is seeking a Child Nutrition Program Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals in a clean, efficient setting, ensuring compliance with all food safety laws. You will support a team of kitchen staff in a school environment.

The role requires standing for extended periods, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining sanitation across all areas. 184-day schedule with daily hours determined by the principal or designee.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; equivalent training preferred.
• Possession of current Food Handler and/or ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and follow written/verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Serve in rotation or assist in CNP activities, including food preparation, serving, cashiering, and sanitation.
• Provide a friendly, professional atmosphere for students, staff, and guests.
• Prepare, cook, and serve foods following approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Follow all safety regulations for food handling.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment (mixers, slicers, dishwashers, ovens, etc.).
• Maintain proper stock levels and sanitize work areas.
