Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a part-time 9-month Food Service position with hours aligned to the school schedule. The role includes food preparation, serving meals, and POS duties, with a pay rate of $15.89 per hour.

You will work 5.5 hours daily, 8:00am-1:30pm, and enjoy district benefits in accordance with the work agreement. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to lift 50 pounds, with strong teamwork and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships to encourage and support a team atmosphere.
• Process strong communication skills and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle food; assist with cooking; wash and dry pots and serve meals.
• Operate POS for breakfast and lunch; verify reimbursable meals.
• Process daily tally counts for claim reimbursement.
• Attend scheduled training and maintain regular attendance.
• Maintain open communication with all served by the Food & Nutrition Department.
