Job summary

Independent School District 196 is seeking a Nutrition Services Associate to support school meal programs in Rosemount, MN. The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing food service tasks during the school day.

The position emphasizes safe food handling, POS operations, and timely meal service while fostering a positive interaction with students and staff. Training and development opportunities are provided within the district’s Nutrition Services

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills required.
• Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds and stand 3–6 hours.
• Serve Safe course and exam with 70% accuracy within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Comply with food service manager's instructions on production, preparation, and service of food.
• Comply with department standards to account for meals (reimbursement and ala carte sales).
• Comply with food service manager's instructions on clean-up of kitchen, serving area, cafeteria and dishroom.
• Comply with safety standards in handling, preparation, storing and serving food.
• Operate computerized point of sale equipment to process students through breakfast and lunch lines.
• Work efficiently and cooperate with other employees.
• Attend job-related training classes and workshops.
• Interact with students in a positive and professional manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
