Job summary

East Hartford Public Schools is seeking a Supervisor of Nursing Services, RN, BSN to oversee the school health program at the Administration Building. This role supervises all registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, coordinates with School Based Health Centers, and works with the Medical Advisor to ensure high-quality health services district-wide.

The position requires RN certification and a BSN, with a master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification – RN.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all RN's and LPNs employed by the school district.
• Collaborates with the School Based Health Centers and Health Education departments.
• Provides, manages and correlates health services for the school system in conjunction with the Medical Advisor.
• Reviews, develops and recommends procedures.
• Manages staffing assignments.
• Plans and implements orientation for all new nurses and substitute nurses.
• Maintains superior standards for school nursing services.
• Evaluates staff performance.
• Assists staff in meeting their own educational goals.
• Oversees homebound tutoring and maintains district 504 records.
• Provides training to all new employees and updates all current employees annually for OSHA standards.
