Job summary

Town of Berlin seeks a School Nurse for the Central Connecticut Transition Academy and Berlin Public Schools. This temporary, need-based position offers 37.5 hours per week and pays a starting rate of $39.29 per hour.

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the nurse delivers skilled nursing in school and home settings, conducts screenings, and collaborates with educators and physicians to support student health and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of National League for Nursing approved school of nursing.
• RN licensure in the state of Connecticut.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with students, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop a plan of care with school personnel to maximize student educational benefit.
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings and basic health assessments.
• Liaise between educational and medical personnel for special education needs.
• Enter information into SNAP Software System and document observations.
