Job summary

Aiken County Public School District in South Carolina seeks a School Nurse – Registered Nurse to support student health services under the Coordinator of Nursing Services. This 8 hours/185 days position reports to the Nursing Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years recent nursing experience in school nursing or related field.
• Current valid licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina; CPR/AED certification.
• Familiarity with district policies and SC Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Uses nursing process to assess and monitor students and staff with illness or injury; coordinate with parents and providers to promote well-being and safety.
• Conducts vision, hearing, and dental screenings per SC DPH recommendations; refer to parents when issues are found.
• Administers medications per physician order and documents accordingly.
• Trains and evaluates staff assisting with medications and delegated nursing procedures.
• Maintains immunization records and reports in compliance with state law.
