Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the applicable state is required.
• Two years of school nurse experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional medical treatment to students.
• Early detection of student health problems and complete health evaluations.
• Coordinate vision, hearing, and orthopedic screenings and health assessments.
• Provide disease prevention, nutrition and general health education.
• Assist with immunization programs and health education for staff.
• Design and implement Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) and manage student medications as needed.
• Maintain clinical records and provide emergency care.
• Consult with and train school staff as a health resource.
• Participate in health instruction and curriculum implementation.
• Counsel students and parents on health-related adjustments.
