Manassas Park City Schools seeks a School Nurse – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a temporary position at Manassas Park Middle School.
The LPN delivers school-based nursing services, including illness/injury care, medication administration, and health documentation, in accordance with Virginia laws and district policies.

SALARY: Classified Scale, Grade 10; Placement based on experience in a similar role
HOURS: Full Time, 7.5 Hours per day (Benefits Eligible)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principals & Nursing Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:
The School Nurse – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supports the health, safety, and well-being of students by providing school-based nursing services in accordance with applicable Virginia laws and regulations, Manassas Park City Schools policies and procedures, and established nursing protocols.
The LPN provides direct health services to students, responds to illnesses and injuries, administers medications and treatments as authorized, maintains required health records, communicates with parents/guardians and school staff, and assists in addressing student health needs that may affect participation in the educational program. The LPN works collaboratively with the Nursing Coordinator, school administrators, families, and other appropriate staff to support a safe and healthy school environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee must be able to perform the physical functions necessary to provide routine and emergency nursing care in a school environment. Duties may require prolonged periods of standing or walking, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motions.
The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to assist students with mobility, positioning, transfers, or movement during an illness, injury, emergency, or evacuation. Assistance from other staff and/or appropriate equipment should be used when necessary.
The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone or electronic means; observe and assess students; read and maintain health records; and operate standard office and health-related equipment.
The employee must be able to respond promptly to medical emergencies throughout the assigned school building and other work locations.
