Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing with RN pursuit to BSN within 3 years from hire date.
• Current New Mexico RN license or compact state license as per NM Board rules.
• Current NM Department of Education license appropriate to the assignment or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports health problems that interfere with student learning through screening procedures and assessments.
• Makes referrals based on screening data.
• Provides consultation and training in school health to students and staff.
• Oversees health assistants and student nurses.
• Administers medication and delivers health care needs to students.
• Develops and implements students’ individualized health management plans.
