Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university; or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and enrolled in or pursuing a BSN within three years of hire.
• Valid New Mexico Registered Nurse License or equivalent compact license.
• Current New Mexico Department of Education license appropriate to the assignment or ability to obtain within ninety days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report health problems interfering with student learning through screenings, assessments and evaluations.
• Refer students based on screening data.
• Provide consultation and training in school health, safety, health education and counseling to students and staff.
• Oversee Health Assistants and Student Nurses.
• Conduct health screenings for special and general education students.
• Advise teachers and parents regarding results.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

New Mexico Department of Education license or ability to obtain licensure within 90 days
