Job summary

City of San Antonio's Pre-K 4 SA Education Center seeks a licensed RN to implement and manage the health program, delivering direct nursing care, health education, and a healthy school environment.

Under direction, you assess student health, administer medications, maintain confidential health records, and coordinate with parents and school staff on health plans and IEP-related items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Five or more years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid Texas RN license from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
• DSTHS certification to administer Hearing and Vision Screenings within 6 months.
• Current CPR/AED certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assesses student health status and makes referrals as needed.
• Administers medications and first aid; maintains health records.
• Educates students, staff, and families on health topics.
• Provides case management for students with specialized health care needs.
• Collaborates with administrators on health plans in IEPs.
• Participates in crisis response and health-related safety planning.
• Reviews immunization records and ensures a healthy school environment.
