Job summary

Athol-Royalston Regional School District's Athol Community Elementary School in Athol, MA seeks a School Nurse to provide first aid, administer medications, and support student health services in accordance with state laws and district policies.

The ideal candidate will have an active Massachusetts RN license, a BA/BS in Nursing, CPR/AED, and at least two years of pediatric or school health experience; DESE School Nurse certification is preferred.

Job Description

Will provide first aid to students and staff, including administering medications, performing ordered treatments, caring for illness, and documenting in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and the policies and procedures of the Athol-Royalston Regional School District.
Must have an understanding of child growth and development.
Ability to facilitate positive student responses to normal development for students in a manner that contributes to their care, growth, and development.
Promotes health and safety for all students in the school.
Ability to think critically and react decisively in emergency situations.
Intervenes with actual and potential health problems and provides case management services as appropriate.
Demonstrated ability to be an effective communicator with students, staff members, and parents and able to maintain confidentiality.
Actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning.

Job Requirements

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.

  Minimum of 2 full years employment as an Registered Nurse in child health, community health, or other relevant clinical nursing setting.
