Job Summary

The School Nurse is an essential member of the City Charter High School community. They are responsible for coordinating, collaborating, planning for, and providing direct services to ensure that City High’s health program complies with the Pennsylvania School Code, School District Policies, and PA Dept. of Health Regulations. The goals of this position are to maintain and improve students’ health to enable full participation in education, and to promote healthy lifestyles through collaboration among home, school, and community. The role requires excellent communication skills and positive relationship-building with students, staff, and families. The school nurse must thrive in a fast-paced environment, caring for students and staff throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Current PA Registered Nurse license
• Knowledge of SNAP or comparable health information systems

Salary and Benefits

Hiring salary ranges from $50,500 (Apprentice) to $62,710 (Journeyman), negotiable based on experience. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), paid time off (PTO), attendance incentives, a competitive 401k plan with employer matching, an educational stipend up to $3,000, transportation stipend of $1,250, trimester breaks, and a 4-day school schedule with only one Monday workday per month (excluding two annual parent-teacher conference days).
