Job summary

Iannarino Fullen Group seeks a School Nurse for a district in Arizona. You will evaluate health care needs of students, administer medications, maintain health records, and respond to emergencies within a school setting.

You will educate students in personal hygiene, communicate health care needs to instructional staff, and collaborate with teachers to support deaf students (sign language coordination as needed). You must be licensed in Arizona and hold CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed nursing credential in the state of Arizona.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience with pediatric patients is preferred.

• Communicate student health care needs to instructional staff; assist with communication for deaf students as needed.

Education

Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in Arizona

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Administer medications and maintain records including dosages and untowardeffects; educate students in personal hygiene and total health care


• Keep current medical records on each student


• Conduct routine surveys and annual screenings


• Keep parents apprised of student health status


• Manage student emergencies related to accidents and health care


• Communicate student health care needs to the instructional staff and take sign language classes for communication with deaf students.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in the State of Arizona


• Evidence of completion of a physical assessment skills course


• Eligible for Arizona School Nurse Certification


• Current CPR Certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three years of experience


• Education or experience in pediatric nursing or urgent care nursing


• Ability to work effectively with many people


• Knowledge of handicapped children and physical assessment skills with sports injuries

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Good knowledge of assessment and treatment of children four (4) to twenty-two

(22) years of age

• Good planning, organization, and communication skills; injury assessment skills
