Job summary

Catapult Learning is hiring a School Nurse for The Hudson School in Hoboken, NJ. This full-time role runs 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday, with an hourly rate of $40-$45. Responsibilities include immunization review, health screenings, record maintenance, medication administration, and providing first aid to students to support their attendance and safety.

The position requires an active NJ RN license and BLS CPR certification; pediatric experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• NJ RN license is required.
• BLS CPR certification (Professional Rescuer or Healthcare Provider) required.

Responsibilities

• Review immunization records for school age children.
• Assist with medical/dental screenings.
• Prepare and file state reports as required by law.
• Conduct audiometric, scoliosis, vision, and height/weight screenings.
• Provide first aid and emergency care to students.
• Administer medication/treatment as necessary for pupils to attend school.
• Notify guardian of screening defects and follow-up recommendations.
• Submit monthly health services reports to Regional Director.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview

School Nurse

Location: The Hudson School

Full-Time: 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday

Hourly rate: $40-$45/hour

Responsibilities

• Review immunization records for school age children
• Assist with Medical/Dental Screenings
• Prepare and file state reports as required by law
• Conduct audiometric screenings
• Conduct scoliosis screenings
• Conduct vision screenings
• Conduct Height and Weight Screenings
• Provide other optional screenings as needed, ex. Blood Pressure, Lice
• Maintain student health records
• Administer medication and/or treatment when necessary for pupils to attend school
• Provide first aid and emergency care to all school age children
• Provide the following services as promulgated by individual State Law/Regulation:
• Notify parent/guardian if a screening defect is found upon screening and recommend appropriate follow-up
• Observe and recommend to principal, exclusion of students who show evidence of communicable diseases and/or whose immunization records are not received from parent/guardian after numerous attempts.
• Submit monthly report of health services and screenings performed to Catapult Learning Regional Director
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

Required:

• Valid NJ RN license, as required by contract.
• RN license and a Basic Life Support CPR - Professional Rescuer or Healthcare Provider card, as required by contract.

Preferred:

• Pediatric experience is desirable, but not necessary.
