Job description

This Middle School teaching position combines math and science, with one section of math and three sections of science. The math section is for 7th grade, and the science sections are for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Math is taught primarily using the Math in Focus program, supplemented with additional resources. Science is interdisciplinary, combining Earth, Life, Space, Physical, and Engineering into a thematic approach.

The Middle School Science and Math teacher will also serve as a grade-level advisor, meeting with a group of advisees each morning to start the day and at periodic points throughout the week.

• Experience and expertise teaching math and science concepts

Details and Hours:

• This is a full-time, 10-month teaching position
• The workday runs from 8:00 am to 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday (note: Faculty meetings are held on Wednesdays from 2:45 pm to 5:00 pm)
• Some after-school clubs or coaching may be required
• School is closed for most national holidays and Winter and Spring Break
