Job summary

The School Board of Broward County is seeking a on-site Food Service worker to prepare and serve nutritionally adequate meals while meeting production deadlines. Responsibilities include operating POS systems, following HACCP guidelines, and assisting with deliveries between sites.

Minimum qualifications include prior food service or cashier experience, English language ability, and basic computer skills. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with a Florida driver’s license as a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior food service or cashier work experience.
• Ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and other Food & Nutrition service-related personnel.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning.
• Operate point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines when assigned.
• Drive vans to satellite sites for food delivery, gas, and clean, as directed.
• Drive refrigerated/freezer trucks between sites.
• Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, or designee.
