Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a School Cook to join our nutrition team. You will cook and prepare meals for students in a school setting, ensuring safety, portioning, and timely service. This role emphasizes clean kitchens, teamwork, and attention to dietary needs.

The position offers a family-friendly schedule, paid training, and solid hours, with a pay rate of $16.50/hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and PTO. Availability for school-based shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must complete all Whitsons and government-required training as necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience required; school nutrition or institutional food service experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification required or must be obtained within a defined timeframe upon hire; local food safety certification required in any jurisdiction of employment.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus.
• Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner.
• Support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures.
