Whitsons Culinary Group is hiring a School Cook to prepare nutritious school meals with a friendly, team-oriented crew. You’ll work Monday–Friday, 7:15am–1:15pm, with no nights or weekends, and you’ll be home mid‑afternoon.

Starting pay is $15/hour. Required: High school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of culinary or food service experience, and ServSafe training (or to obtain after hire). We train for safety and nutrition in a supportive school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must complete all Whitsons and government-required training as necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience; school nutrition or institutional food service preferred.
• ServSafe certification required or must obtain within a defined timeframe upon hire; local food safety certification required in any jurisdiction of employment.
• Must be proficient in recipe procedures and cooking techniques; ability to speak and read English sufficient to understand and perform job assignments, follow recipes, and comply with safety requirements.

Responsabilités

• Cook and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus.
• Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner.
• Support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures.
• Complete production records, temperature logs, and ordering sheets daily.
• Assist with ordering and inventory.
