Job summary

Kalamazoo Public Schools is hiring a Food Service 1 for Prairie Ridge Elementary. The position runs 7:30-1:30 pm and pays $16.98 per hour. You will help with daily kitchen operations, serve students, and assist with kitchen cleanup.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, excellent attendance, reliability, friendly demeanor, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Basic reading/writing and math skills are required, with food safety knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
• Excellent attendance and reliability are essential.
• Friendly, courteous and able to work in a fast-paced setting.
• Reads, writes, and does basic math; follows instructions.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle kitchen tasks.
• Basic food safety/sanitation knowledge; prior cooking preferred.
• No misdemeanors or felony convictions in the past 5 years.
• Experience in food service, cashiering or cooking is desirable.
