Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a School Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Ambulatory care in the Decatur Township Schools in Indianapolis. The LPN will provide health services to support students’ growth and development, and will float across schools within the Decatur Township District.

The role emphasizes pediatric nursing, health education, medication management and referral to higher care when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized accredited school of practical nursing, or have three years related professional nursing experience.
• Current Indiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
• Two years or more of nursing experience required.
• Two years of experience working with pediatric patients required.
• Excellent team skills.
• Compassionate and caring.
• Accountable.
• Self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Provide health services to facilitate optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development for students within the schools.
• Cares for students with chronic health issues and helps identify health needs during the course of the school day.
• Supports the education process by working to assure the health of the students. Promote healthy habits and overall health to strengthen learning.
