Qualifications

• NJ State Certification as a Media Specialist
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Library Science or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist students in locating reference and instructional materials
• Reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, media and other skills
• Maintain the circulation desk operations and files
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning
• Operate audio-visual equipment as needed
• Assist in cataloging and filing learning materials
• Construct, copy, distribute and use educational materials
• Serve as a reference guide for students
• Arrange book displays and exhibits to promote reading and learning
• Assist in selection and weeding of library materials
• Utilize and maintain library equipment and computers
