Responsibilities

• Instruct students in the use of the library media center and assist with selecting materials related to interests and curriculum.
• Plan, schedule, manage and evaluate library media center operations.
• Select, order and organize the library media center's print and non-print materials.
• Maintain and report accurate statistical data; generate library media orders and professional reports.
• Provide reference service, prepare bibliographies and develop curriculum support materials for staff.
• Encourage reading through storytelling, book talks and reading guidance for students and teachers.
• Assist staff development through in-service workshops and other methods to familiarize staff with media materials.
• Involve staff in leveraging the media center as part of the regular school program.
• Develop a program for students and teachers on operational audiovisual equipment.
