Job summary

Fargo Public Schools in Fargo, ND is seeking a Library Assistant to coordinate daily library operations, check materials in and out, shelve items, and supervise students during the school day.

You will assist with AV equipment, maintain the catalog, support acquisitions, and participate in required training. This role supports teachers and students in a busy school media center with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate with students, colleagues and guardians.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with library operations.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with colleagues and students.
• Checks materials in and out on the electronic circulation system.
• Shelves and files materials; maintains neat order in the media center.
• Supervises students and staff in the library; answers phones and takes messages.
• Books and circulates materials, including assessment of lost items.
• Assists with audiovisual equipment and software used for instruction.
• Tracks materials, equipment locations, and patron database in the catalog.
