Job summary

NMS seeks a Utility Worker to support Mt. Edgecumbe High School’s kitchen and dining facilities. The role involves cleaning, stocking, serving, and basic food service tasks within a school environment, ensuring orderly storage and sanitary conditions.

The position emphasizes reliable English communication, adherence to safety guidelines, and the ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, food preparation, and general cleaning processes.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain sanitary kitchen areas.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and stores them in assigned areas.
• Stocks storage areas with various products.
• Cleans, sweeps, wipes down dining, kitchen, or storage areas and equipment.
• Removes garbage and sets up or breaks down tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
• Assists with periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
• May have some responsibility with food service-related duties.
• Other duties that support the department’s success may be assigned.
