Job summary

Mount Edgecumbe High School is seeking dedicated Food Service Workers to join our Food Services team. You will prepare, portion and serve meals while ensuring a clean and safe kitchen and dining area for students and staff.

You will handle POS transactions, cash and meal accounts, and assist with inquiries. A Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe may be required within 30 days of hire; English literacy is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year customer service and/or food service experience preferred.
• Must be willing to work as part of a team and interact politely with customers.
• Must show up on time and complete scheduled shifts reliably.
• Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
• Basic proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Inputs sales and transactions into the POS system.
• Handles cash, credit/debit payments, and meal accounts.
• Counts and reconciles cash drawers at shifts start/end.
• Assists students, staff and visitors with inquiries and food/beverage selections.
• Maintains a clean and safe kitchen and dining areas.
• Cleans dishes and maintains kitchen equipment and prep areas.
• Ensures workspaces are clean and orderly after service.
• Other duties as assigned.
