Job summary

The Gardner School of Franklin is hiring a School Kitchen Support Staff to assist in a state-of-the-art preschool kitchen. You will confirm weekly menus, prepare meals, maintain inventory, and ensure safety and cleanliness in line with state and federal guidelines.

The role also supports classroom activities as needed and requires reliable attendance. Ideal candidates have SafeServe certification or willingness to obtain it, experience in large-volume cooking, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must have SafeServe certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in large-volume food preparation and cooking.
• Knowledge of school food safety guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong communication skills with team and directors.
• Must be able to pass background check and work legally in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Confirm weekly menus with school director.
• Adhere to the school's budgetary needs.
• Maintain inventory and complete weekly orders.
• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus.
• Ensure food is cooked and served at correct temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized and organized kitchen.
• Dishwashing duties and sanitation.
• Follow state and federal safety, sanitation, and nutrition guidelines.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
• Assist in classrooms and other areas as needed.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Possess allergy knowledge for dietary planning.
