Job summary

Southwest Licking Local School District in Ohio is seeking a Head Cook to lead our school’s Food Service Team at Watkins Intermediate School. The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and nutrition guidelines.

Hours are 7:45 am to 1:45 pm, 6 hours, with pay based on negotiated agreement. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, ServSafe certification preferred, strong math and budgeting skills, and a commitment to student

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication and teamwork to supervise kitchen staff.
• Must be capable of accurate math calculations for portioning and budgeting.
• Experience in institutional food service and understanding of health/safety standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage food preparation activities and supervise assigned staff.
• Monitor department budget and control costs via vendor pricing.
• Maintain inventory and ensure timely procurement of supplies.
• Ensure compliance with health and food safety regulations and district guidelines.
