• Must be Serv-Safe certified.
• Qualifications per negotiated contract.
• Reports to Food Service Director.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Prepare daily school meals according to a planned menu and state/federal guidelines.
• Follow sanitation standards and proper food handling.
• Implement production techniques and cost containment while maintaining quality.
• Receive, store, handle, prepare and serve food per standards.
• Maintain production, inventory and recipe book standards.
• Inform Food Service Director/Manager of needed supplies.
• Check menus and defrost frozen foods as needed.
• Prepare food for special events.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to safety standards in storing and serving food.
• Assist in daily kitchen cleaning.
• Practice FIFO for food products.
• Check temperature, flavor and texture before serving.
• Follow instructions in portioning and serving meals.
• Prepare required quantities for each location.
