Whitsons is seeking a School Cook to join our nutrition team for the upcoming 25-26 school year. You’ll cook and prep meals according to menus, ensuring safety and quality, while keeping a clean kitchen and collaborating with staff to serve meals on time.

This full-time role offers a family-friendly schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays, paid training, and steady hours to support student health and learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must complete Whitsons and government-required training as necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience; school nutrition or institutional food service experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification required or must obtain within a defined timeframe upon hire; local food safety certification required in any jurisdiction.
• Proficient in recipe procedures and cooking techniques; ability to speak/read English to understand and perform job assignments, follow recipes, and comply with safety requirements.
• Present a positive, professional image; able to work effectively as part of a fast-paced kitchen team; genuine interest in school nutrition and student health.
