SLA is seeking a Food Service Worker Floater to support multiple school kitchens across the district. You will prepare meals, serve students and staff, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

The role requires reliability, adaptability, and the ability to travel between sites as scheduled. This full-time position offers exposure to diverse school environments and teams, with responsibilities including food preparation, serving, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous food service or cleaning experience preferred
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to different locations daily
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing needs
• Comfortable working in fast-paced and varying environments
• Basic math and computer skills
• Must pass a background check and fingerprint screening and MVREnjoys working around children and being part of a school community
• Respectful, inclusive, and able to work with diverse teams

Responsibilities

• Travel between school sites as scheduled to assist with daily kitchen operations
• Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and safe
• Restock serving areas such as food lines, salad bars, and milk boxes
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries using FIFO practices
• Serve meals to students, staff, and guests with a positive attitude
• Perform routine cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and trash removal
• Follow all health and safety regulations at each site
• Step in to support kitchen teams or cover absences
• Submit reports and complete assigned tasks on time
• Take direction from Kitchen Managers and adjust quickly to new team dynamics
