Job summary

NANA Management Services (NMS) is seeking a Cook to provide essential meal services within the Juneau School District. The Cook assists with food preparation, serves nutritious meals to students and staff, and maintains a clean, sanitary kitchen that meets all food safety regulations.

The role supports daily nutritional needs and overall well-being of the school community, with typical hours from early morning to early afternoon and opportunities to contribute across multiple sites in Juneau.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of directly related food preparation or cooking experience.
• Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals according to production reports and menus using standardized recipes.
• Ensure food quality, portion control, and proper food handling and storage.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and food safety standards.
• Direct Food Service Workers on daily prep, cleaning, and serving tasks.
• Complete inventory counts, production logs, and verify supply needs.
• Set up and monitor serving lines and ensure all areas are clean and stocked.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and fill in for absent staff as needed.
• Operate independently while maintaining operational standards.
