Job summary

Brigaid is hiring a Cook in The Bronx, NY to support DREAM Charter Schools. This full-time, non-exempt role involves daily food production, safety, and collaboration with the DREAM Program Chef.

You must have at least 2 years of cooking experience and hold or be able to obtain NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate and ServSafe Manager certification during training. The package includes full benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional cooking experience.
• Valid NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate or ability to obtain.
• ServSafe Manager certification or Brigaid-sponsored course with pass required.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily production and service meeting NSLP/CACFP guidelines.
• Maintain kitchen standards, SOPs, food safety, and cleanliness.
• Monitor feedback from students and communicate with DREAM Program Chef.
• Receive deliveries, assist with inventory and maintain records (production, purchasing, HACCP).
• Assist with events and maintain relationships with students and staff.
