Job summary

Colorado Springs School District 11 is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Galileo Middle School to support daily school meals. This part-time, .50 FTE position runs 173 days per year with pay between $15.70 and $18.76 per hour.

Primary duties include assisting in food preparation, serving students and staff, and helping maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and basic computer and cashiering knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills preferred.
• Basic cashiering knowledge and skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of food for school meals.
• May prepare hot and/or cold food items for service.
• Maintain accurate production records and meal counts as required.
• Assist in the service of prepared food to students and staff and may cashier.
• Clean and disinfect work areas and kitchen equipment, including ovens, sinks, floors and trays.
• Stock shelves and monitor kitchen supplies and dating/labeling of stored items.
