Job summary

Auburn School Department Nutrition Program in Auburn, Maine is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support daily meal preparation for students at East Auburn Community School and satellite sites. The role requires flexibility, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and good teamwork with staff and students.

Rate of pay is $18.50 per hour for 2.50 hours per day. Training includes HAACP compliance and daily sanitation procedures. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

Flexible in work assignments.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Interacts well with students and staff.
Kitchen experience preferred.
Adapts to change quickly and efficiently.
Follows instructions with accuracy for safe meal prep and state reporting.

Responsibilities

Arrives and leaves work at appointed times.
Work with Auburn Middle School team to prepare and serve food quickly and pleasantly.
Cashier training.
Wash dishes, fill flatware stations, load milk, prepare meals, serve and daily cleanup as assigned by manager.
Help replenish food as needed.
Adhere to HAACP plan and cleaning/sanitizing protocols, including arriving in clean clothes.
Collaborate with staff to check in and store orders safely, accurately and equitably.
Complete six professional development hours annually at dates set by the Nutrition Director.
Other duties as assigned.
