Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To assist the school principal by providing instructional leadership with guidance and direction of the principal, coordinate student activities that will ensure appropriate implementation and appropriate instructional guidelines; to promote a positive working relationship, among and between staff, by establishing a climate conducive to open communication and productive work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's Degree, required

Master's Degree, required

Texas Mid-Management or other appropriate certificate, required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Communicate effectively (verbal and written); utilize effective interpersonal skills; interpret data, federal and state laws and policies; demonstrate broad-based knowledge of curriculum, demonstrate knowledge of teaching philosophies and instructional strategies; demonstrate ability to evaluate student programs and teaching effectiveness; demonstrate computer knowledge, preferred

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience as a classroom teacher, required

Working Days: 212

Daily Rate pay range:

Minimum: $349.50

Maximum: $487.62

Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Partner with the principal to assist the school-site administration and staff in the area of curriculum.

2. Serve as a facilitator for planning and capacity building activities within the school.

3. Collaborate with the staff and administration to complete all planning year tasks and move the school into implementation. The SIF, along with the principal and other administrators, monitors planning and implementation using guidance and support.

4. Collaborate with the staff and administration to expand their repertoire of instructional strategies proven to increase performance among diverse groups of students.

5. Maintain and prepare reports on regular and timely basis, as required by the campus principal.

6. Promote and supports parental/community involvement in the school’s reform activities.

7. Stay informed of current research, trends and issues by engaging in professional development activities

8. Support staff in effective small groups and small learning community practices and facilitation skills.

Federal Programs Director Evaluation:

9. Assist with the implementation of School’s Campus Improvement Plan student performance goals and share in the accountability structure.

10. Assist with the desegregation of data including results from Campus and District benchmarks and state assessments.

11. Work with the district to identify, secure and maintain necessary resource for successful implementation.

12. Keep all appropriate staff in Central Office and at the school site well informed about planning, capacity building and implementation activities and progress.

13. Maintain and prepare reports on regular and timely basis, as required by the funding source.

14. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) that are within scope of intent and purpose of position.
