University of South Florida in Florida seeks a School Improvement Coordinator (Finance) to support and monitor school improvement plans regionally. You will work with school leadership to assure compliance with state and federal requirements and use data to guide instructional needs.
The role involves travel within the state up to 75% for meetings, workshops, and site reviews; the position is grant funded and supports the Institute for School-Community Partnerships.

The Institute for School-Community Partnerships, Integrative Services, and Child Mental Health and Educational Policy (ISCP), which is part of the College of Education, envisions that all schools in the state of Florida and nationally will have the capacity to provide a safe, effective, and efficient environment to continuously improve the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students and to actively engage families and communities in education. The ISCP's nearly $23 million budget is derived from grants from federal, state, and private sources. It is the mission of the ISCP to implement and evaluate research-based and innovative practices in school and community settings. This is accomplished through (a) training, technical assistance, and support to key partners; (b) community-engaged research and program evaluation to inform key partners' decision making; (c) the development of research and evidence-based documents, tools, and resources to support implementation and evaluation activities; and (d) supporting the infrastructure and capacity of key partners to implement and evaluate federal and state educational policy.
The School Improvement Coordinator provides support and monitoring of plans (School Improvement Plan, District Managed Turnaround Plan, Turnaround Option Plan) for schools and districts in the region. The position will work directly with school leadership and staff in their assigned regions; and assure and monitor compliance with state and federal requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of what quality and learning 'looks like' in the classroom and the ability to identify strategies and develop systems to improve classroom instruction at the district and school level. This position must have knowledge of the Florida's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking and the ability to use and analyze data to determine instructional needs. The ability to use and analyze data to determine instructional needs and possess strong interpersonal skills that lead to an effective working relationship with all stakeholders is a requirement of this position. An additional requirement of the position is to be able to travel both within the state at least 75% of the time for meetings, workshops/conferences, and site related monitoring and instructional reviews. This position is grant funded.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, Adult Education or equivalent with one year of experience in a professional training position; or a Master's degree in the same field.
Certain grants and programs may also have specific education and/or certification requirement specific to the subject matter area of the program.
Master's degree and five years successful teaching and/or instructional coaching experience at the school-based or district leadership level.

Promote, support, and determine SI compliance for districts and schools. Provide a non-threatening, open, professional and collaborative work relationship and leadership oversight between the Department, school district(s), and schools under SI for the purpose of school improvement and implementation for academic accountability. Provide technical assistance and coaching to schools. Participate in regional team meetings.
Manifests a professional code of ethics and values. Provide assistance with organizational change; program and instructional monitoring, and the teaching of Florida State Standards.
Assist districts in building capacity to critically assess and selectively incorporate evidence-based strategies to support school improvement by coordinating meetings, regional trainings, and professional development for identified schools within the region.
Continually analyze student performance data to drive school improvement strategies.
Conduct instructional reviews, review school assessment trend data, School Improvement Plan (SIP), District Managed Turnaround Plan, and Turnaround Option Plan.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
