Job summary

Floydada ISD in Floydada, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive school health services for students and staff across district campuses. The RN will promote wellness, manage acute and chronic conditions, and ensure compliance with state health regulations.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care, medication administration, IHP/EAP development, health screenings, emergency planning, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Texas Registered Nurse license required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and district policy.
• Develop and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
• Support Section 504 and special education processes.
• Conduct required Texas health screenings.
• Monitor communicable diseases and enforce exclusion guidelines.
• Promote preventive care and immunization compliance.
• Respond to medical emergencies and train staff in CPR/first aid as assigned.
• Maintain confidential health records and comply with TEC and DSHS requirements.
• Serve as liaison between school, families, and healthcare providers.
• Travel between campuses and work independently with limited resources.
