Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is seeking an experienced School Health Program nurse to provide school-based nursing services across Nashville and Davidson County schools. You will evaluate student health needs, arrange screenings, coordinate care, and maintain health records in a fast-paced educational setting.

The role requires Tennessee RN licensure, CPR, and a Public Health Certificate; a diploma/associate degree is required, with a bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Tennessee.
• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Public Health Certificate required as a condition of continued employment.
• Valid class “D” driver’s license and vehicle insurance as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing services in Metro Nashville/Davidson County Schools.
• Evaluates the health needs of students attending assigned schools.
• Provides or arranges for screenings and assessments.
• Provides care coordination and case management.
• Maintains student health records.
• Implements medication distribution system.
• Performs related duties.
