Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools in Minnesota is seeking an LPN/RN Licensed Healthcare Specialist to join our health services team. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6.5 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid break, totaling 7.0 hours, starting November 2, 2026.

You will provide first aid, maintain health records, and administer medications under supervision, coordinating with staff and parents per district policies. Benefits include medical, dental, life, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota LPN or RN license.
• CPR and first aid training.
• Effective human relations skills when dealing with staff, students, and community.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos; write correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
• Ability to operate computer and familiarity with multiple software packages.
• Regular attendance and adherence to district policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid for ill or injured students; contact parents or emergency contacts; administer first aid and medications under general direction.
• Carry out clerical functions: input data, run reports, answer phones, open mail; maintain health supplies.
• Maintain a health record for each student and update as necessary.
• Maintain immunization records; prepare annual reports for review.
• Carry out components of health care/emergency plans for students with disabilities.
• Assist in prevention and management of infectious illness; communicate with LSN and parents.
• Alert LSN to possible abuse or neglect per policy.
• Intervene in crisis situations; perform CPR/first aid and call 911 per policy.
• Assist in vision/hearing screening; recruit volunteers and manage screening site logistics.
• Record contacts from home school educators; provide health information as directed.
