Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a Clinic Assistant to support the school nurse in implementing student health services. The role includes assisting with daily clinic operations, taking temperatures, and providing minor care and first aid.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED and a CNA/CMA/PCT or EMT/LPN certification, plus 1–3 years of experience and a current BLS CPR/AED certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or GED.
• Certification as CNA/CMA/PCT or EMT/LPN license (Virginia).
• Active BLS CPR/AED certification with hands-on training.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist school nurse in daily clinic operation.
• Take student temperatures and provide minor care.
• Administer care as directed by nurse and contact parents as appropriate.
• Maintain clinic records and reports (emergency forms, daily/monthly reports).
• Assist with screening programs and medically involved students.
