Job summary

Ames Middle School in the Ames Community School District is seeking a part-time Health Associate to support an individual student. The role works under the nurse's supervision, promoting student health and safety, with duties including first aid, medication administration, and health documentation.

Schedule is 9.5 months, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:45pm. CNA certification, First Aid/CPR with AED, and previous healthcare experience are preferred qualifications for this role.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required and valid.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR, including AED training.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the school nurse and communicates with staff, students, and parents.
• Follows nurse guidelines and maintains health records.
• Administers first aid and medications during school hours as prescribed.
• Creates a safe and healthy school environment.
• Notifies nurse of acute illness or injury and provides immediate care as needed.
• Maintains consistent attendance and professional conduct.
