Job summary

Ames Middle School, part of the Ames Community School District, is seeking a part-time Health Associate to support an individual student. The role works under the nurse's supervision and aims to strengthen the educational process by addressing health needs during school hours.

Responsibilities include assisting with medications, health records, and confidential information, while collaborating with staff, students and families to create a supportive, inclusive school climate.

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certification including AED use is required.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse and staff in promoting a safe, healthy school environment.
• Administer first aid and prescribed medications during school hours.
• Maintain health records and assist with confidential information handling.
• Communicate with students, staff and families as needed.
• Follow district policy for illness and injury and ensure timely reporting.
