Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a school health nurse to provide essential healthcare support for students, administer first aid, and manage medication according to district policy. The role includes recording immunizations, vision/hearing results, and maintaining health records while ensuring a clean, secure Health Office.

The position requires up to 25-40 lb lifting, attendance at monthly staff meetings, and adherence to district procedures.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of school health experience OR 1+ year of relevant medical experience OR Current certification/licensure as CNA/RMA/EMT/RN
• Active CPR Certification

Responsibilities

• Notify student's guardian of visits to the Health Office.
• Offer care for student injuries.
• Create an Arizona Health Record for each student.
• Record immunizations, vision and hearing test results.
• Maintain all prescription and non-prescription medication with proper security measures.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized office.
• Maintain and rotate supplies.
• Complete weekly accident and health office visit reports for Administrator.
• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Conduct hearing and vision screening.
• Complete and send immunization and hearing reports to state.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Providing support in addressing the health needs of students; assisting in implementing the school health program; and providing appropriate care and/or referral for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students. Administer first aid and medication to students according to district policy and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCES

• 6+ months of school health experience OR 1+ year of relevant medical experience OR Current certification/licensure as one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Registered Nurse (RN)
• Active CPR Certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

• Experience working with school-aged children or in a school health setting
• The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check
