Job summary

Conroe Independent School District seeks a School Nurse Assistant to support the school nurse with routine health services and health screenings at the campus level.

You will perform basic first aid, administer medications per policy, assist with vision and hearing screenings, and maintain health records under licensed supervision. Strong organizational and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Vision, Hearing and Scoliosis screening certification or obtain within 60 days of hire.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills.
• Ability to use personal computer and software to develop databases and perform word processing.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Carry out first aid and emergency procedures for ill and injured students as directed by school nurse.
• Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures; maintain accurate log of medications dispensed.
• Assist with screening activities including measuring height and weight, testing vision and hearing, and examining spinal cord and scalp.
• Escort students to and from health room and assist students with disabilities as necessary.
• Record information on student health records and compile health reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow district health services policies.
