Job summary

Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District is seeking a Health Aide to support student health, safety, and well-being under licensed RN supervision. This full-time position provides direct care, basic medical services, and health record documentation in the school setting.

Responsibilities include administering medications per orders, performing screenings, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure safe, effective health services for students throughout the district.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years of college preferred.
• Alaska Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant cert preferred.
• LPN license preferred; CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
• At least 1 year health care or school health experience.
• Alaska driver’s license or access to a vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic first aid, CPR and AED interventions per protocol.
• Administer medications under RN supervision and record as required.
• Deliver direct care to students per individual health care plans.
• Maintain accurate, confidential health records for student visits.
• Collaborate with RN, staff and families to support student health.
• Conduct state and district mandated screenings and document results.
• Report health issues promptly to the RN and parents/guardians.
• Document accidents or injuries per district policy.
• Attend Health Services meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other health-related duties as assigned.
