Job summary

The Fitchburg School District is seeking a District Grounds Worker/Utility to maintain school grounds citywide. This role involves mowing, trimming, fertilization, irrigation control, and general grounds upkeep to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming spaces for students, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities include operating lawn care and landscaping equipment, maintaining inventory of grounds tools, and assisting with district events and winter maintenance.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years grounds maintenance experience.
• Must hold MA commercial pesticide license or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Class D driver's license required.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
• Able to respond to emergency call-ins.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, seed, fertilize, and maintain grounds.
• Operate mowers, blowers, weed eaters, rollers, and tractors.
• Care for and inventory grounds equipment.
• Support campus events and emergency responses.
• Assist other Facilities team members as needed.
