Job summary

Papillion La Vista Community Schools is seeking a dependable Grounds Keeper to oversee the care, maintenance, and appearance of district grounds and athletic fields. This role includes summer mowing planning and supervising the summer crew, plus winter snow/ice duties and coordination with custodial staff.

The position requires a High School Diploma or horticulture/arborist certificate, with two years of grounds experience preferred and supervisory ability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of grounds maintenance/landscape management preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions and technical guidance.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee care, maintenance, and appearance of district grounds and athletic fields.
• Develop summer mowing and grounds maintenance schedules; supervise summer crew.
• Assist with snow/ice control in winter and coordinate with custodial staff on grounds needs.
• Aim to maximize efficient use of district funds, equipment, and resources.
