Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a School Food Service Worker in Kings Park, NY, to join the district’s nutrition team. You’ll prep, portion, and serve meals to students and staff on a Monday–Friday schedule with no nights or weekends.

No prior experience required; we provide training and support in a positive kitchen environment focused on safe food handling and kid-friendly meals.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Whitsons and government-mandated training as required.
• Minimum 1 year of professional food service experience preferred but not required.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to speak and read English sufficient to understand and perform job assignments, follow recipes, and comply with safety requirements.
• Always presents a positive and professional image; ability to work effectively as part of a food service team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Core competencies include Food Safety & Compliance, Execution & Reliability, Attention to Detail, Teamwork, Customer Focus, and Professionalism.
